Back in 2009, Woodpecker Inn was one of the first guest houses I visited that was right in the middle of a luxury housing estate. Since then many have popped up in many different estates, The Woodpecker Inn remains one of my favourite, with its handcrafted stain glass windows, immaculate gardens and garden features and the classic decor.
Owned and managed for the last 14 years by the very hospitable Mari and Brian Ray, The Woodpecker Inn is the ideal AA SUPERIOR, 5 star guest house for travelling business executives to stay over and relax. AND only 50 meters from the clubhouse, on the l8th fairway overlooking the 9th and 18th green. Ducks and geese splash around in the dams while an abundance of birds twitter around all day. A big plus for birders who dont feel like making the great trek to the bush The Inn has seven rooms, all with on-suite bathrooms and top quality amenities supplied. Most of the rooms overlook the lusciously rolling green lawns of the course. The theme throughout is OBVIOUSLY golfing. Brain has gone to great pains to collect large beautiful paintings, featuring all the golfing greats throughout the years, including Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Ernie Els. Facilities on the estate include a 9 and 18 hole golf course, squash courts, conference facilities, tennis courts and a top class restaurant.
